VOD 04/24/12: Assemble And Help One Another.

Verse:

Hebrews 10:25
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. (KJV)

Thought:

Yesterday we spoke of those who assemble in church and disassemble when not in church…so to speak. Here, we are encouraged to meet together in worship; urging and helping each other to realize our full potential in righteousness…more so now than at any other time as we are closer than ever to the glorious Kingdom of God. Congregate together with your friends, family, and acquaintances and share your knowledge and assist one another so that there will be new growth and enlightenment.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit give us the commitment to assemblage with others. Please help us to help others come to know Your true Word. Encourage us to encourage others in their quest to become closer to You. Never let us mislead anyone off the path that leads to eternal life. Let our lives reflect the teachings of Your Son.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

Good morning to one and all. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours for a safe and wonder-filled day.

May God Bless,
Michael

VOD 04/23/12: Be Careful Who You Follow.

Verse:

Hebrews 6:11-12
And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. (KJV)

Thought:

Sadly, too many churchgoers are singing ‘Standing on the Promises’ when all they are doing is sitting on the premises. Here we are told to follow the examples set by the true believers in the Word of God. How easy it would be to make a showing at church, sing a few songs, throw in an occasional ‘Amen!’, then go about our business as usual. Our LORD doesn’t want easy, He wants perseverance. Pick and chose very carefully who you will follow. The wrong choice can lead to dire consequences.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit instill in us the commitment to be more than just speakers of the truth, but doers.  Just as You are long-suffering with us, Your children, let us not follow the ways of the ungodly but instead follow the commandments of Your Word and in the steps of Your Son so as to ensure us of everlasting life.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 04/22/12: Our Nation Needs Him Also.

Verse:

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (KJV)

Thought:

Humility is not our culture's biggest asset or most desired character quality. But humility is what is demanded, not so much because it's commanded, but because we've earned it. Every year brings another wave of failures in morality, character, and spirituality. Rather than progressing culturally, we find ourselves slipping into an apathetic society when it comes to morals and ethics. Humility comes from knowing that we are who we are by grace. So let us be humble and call upon the Lord.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit keep us humble and appreciative of Your loving care. We come to You knowing that You hear us, despite the expansiveness between You and us. We come humbly asking that You reassert Yourself in our nation. Your faithfulness is appreciated, and Your mercy and grace are such a blessing to us.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 04/21/12: If You Believe, Have Confidence.

Verse:

1 John 5:14-15
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. (KJV)

Thought:

Here we are told that as long as we believe in Him and ask according to His will, we can go to God with a confident spirit. Through the presence of Jesus at the Father's right hand and the intercession of the Holy Spirit, we can have confidence and come boldly before the Creator of the universe and know that He not only hears us, but also cares for us. What an audience. Oh, and one final thing, He also acts upon what we ask. We just need to be prepared for an answer that we never thought about.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit give us the confidence to come before You in prayer. For the grace of Your listening ear we thank You more than words can say. Through the authority of Jesus, our brother, and by the grace and power of Your Holy Spirit, we offer You our thanks, our love, and our devotion this day and forever.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

Good morning to one and all. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours for a safe and wonder-filled day.

VOD 04/20/12: Do You Have Time To…?

Verse:

Ecclesiastes 3:1
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: (KJV)

Thought:

So much to do, So little time. I’m sure you’ve heard that one before. I’m almost as sure that you’ve said it yourself. I know I have. Yet, according to Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, there is a set time for everything. The meaning behind these scriptures? Make a schedule. Plan out your daily activities so that you can efficiently utilize your time. As long as you have an idea of what your day entails, time is not wasted and you live your day with a greater sense of purpose and at the end of the day, greater satisfaction.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit show us how we may best utilize our time. May we use this gift of another day in the manner that is pleasing to You. Let us use each day to its fullest potential. Give us the foresight to plan our activities so as to not waste the time You have given us here; to continually use that time for improvement.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 04/19/12: With Him, You Can Withstand.

Verse:

Job 1:9&12
Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD. (KJV)

Thought:

Feel free to substitute Job’s name with your own in the above scriptures. Just as Satan had to go before God and get permission to test Job, he has to do the same thing for each and every one of us. Be of good hope, though. Just as the LORD placed restrictions on what Satan could do to Job, He does likewise for each of us according to our individual strengths and weaknesses. He will never allow you to be tested beyond what you are capable of taking care of. Have faith, for He is with you.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit give us the strength of Jesus to stand up to and overcome Satan’s everyday temptations. We know that Satan will put us to task in order to test our faith in You. We know You will not forsake us as long as we stay true to Your will. We know that You are with us through our trials and tribulations.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 04/18/12: What’s Unnatural Is Not Natural.

Verse:

Leviticus 18:22
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. (KJV)

Thought:

Here is another scripture that is pretty cut and dried. A man sleeping with another man (having sex with) is an abomination to our LORD. You can label it any way you want to (gay, alternate lifestyle…etc.) but the fact of the matter is, it is not natural and goes against God’s laws and teachings. The main reason for having two sexes was for procreation, not for ‘entertainment’. That falls under the category of Lust, one of the seven deadly sins. Perversion leads to eternal damnation.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit keep us in mind of Your natural laws. In this day and time, as in times past, people try to justify going against the laws of nature and Your word. Open the eyes of those which chose to partake in unnatural acts and show them Your love and mercy by Your forgiveness if only they amend their lustful ways.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 04/17/12: It Is Sad When Children Sin.

Verse:

Genesis 6:5-6
And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. (KJV)

Thought:

When Satan rebelled, was overcome, and cast down to the vicinity of Earth, mankind chose him. It’s like if your own children start hanging out with the wrong crowd. You hope that they will remember what you’ve taught them and resist evil but you can’t control their freedom of choice. Don’t you grieve if they succumb to temptation? So it was with our LORD when we, His children, chose to sin. All we can do is teach our children right from wrong and hope they choose the former.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit dwell within us and show us the way back to You by giving us the commitment and fortitude to resist Satan’s temptations. Please forgive us of our past sins and give us the strength and courage to overcome the evils of this world. May we return to You and follow the path You have chosen for us.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.
