Stephen Strasburg

I hate all this arguing about Strasburg participating or not participating in the All-Star Game. Yes, he's a great pitcher but he hasn't been pitching for long at all. Strasburg will be playing in All-Star Games for years to come unless something unbelievable happens.

How can you justify putting someone whos only started 5 games. Think about it like this, if you put Strasburg in the All-Star Game you're taking a spot from a guy that will maybe be making his only appearence in an All-Star Game. You could even talk to your grandkids about it. "I beat out Stephen Strasburg for the All-Star pitching spot. What a story that would be.

On a slightly more pleasent topic... I'm happy that the Jays got by the Yanks today but I'm wondering how they can get swept by the Indians and then the next day go out and beat the World Series Champions. It makes me mad but I love beating the big power houses. I'm looking forward to the All-Star Game and all the festivities, it should be good TV watching. I would love to see the NL steal one from the AL and stop their streak. Best of luck.

Scott Richmond

I was watching the game tonight and while I was witnessing Scott Richmond get punished I couldn't help but think, "haven't I seen this before"? So i dug up a bunch of Richmonds previous outings and saw what I knew I would.

He has lost his last 5 decisions, his ERA keeps climbing: 5.03 after going 4 1/3 innings. He only gave up 5 hits but also 6 runs partly because of the 4 walks in the ballgame. Toronto is really going to have to work with him. He doesn't look like he should be out there at all.

I thought the game was definitely headed to extra's or maybe Detroit could walk off in the ninth but with two out and Scutaro on second, Hill did what he has been doing for the greater part of this year. A 2 run shot put them up 8 - 6 and Scott Downs finished the rest.

Ending on a positive note, it was nice to see Vernon Wells go deep. He's a guy who's fantasy value is dropping rapidly. Finally, the Jays need to sort out many things this offseason. Even though I don't get to see the Jays in the postseason I look forward to some great playoffs.
