I always knew that posting here on gamedays was a jinx for me, but I never thought that by not posting on draft day we would get the player that we all REALLY wanted!

I couldn't be more excited about our pick at #24.

To sum up the 1st round:

- Are we on Wall street? Trading picks like their stock options.

- Bruce "Buster" Irvin

- NE takes a page from the Jeffersons and actually "Moves on Up"

- Browns take an AARP recipient

- Patience pays off in Pittsburgh

Sergio Kindle was as much as of a steal in the second round as Limas Sweed was

I'm just surprised to see all the "Ravens are screwed" talk when multiple players they were stated as really liking are still available.  They only moved back 5 spots.  Hill, Upshaw, Glenn, and even Konz are all still out there.  Most didn't even expect Hightower to fall to 29, half of you didn't think he'd fall to 24.  This is all just.....interesting to read.

IF New England took Barney Fife they would probably get a B+ because his hands were Certified Legal Weapons.

So who do the Steelers target in round two? I don't see them going offense so possibly Kendricks, TE, or CB? It seems too early to grab NT, RB, or OLB so I am just spitballing what BPA and value will be.

Will DeCastro play right or left guard, he played right at Stanford?

The Ravens are far from screwed, but need to get younger on defense. As do the Steelers. Everyone pretty much expected Hightower to go to Pittsburgh or Baltimore, but Upshaw would be an even bigger upgrade. While the Ravens do need to find an ILB, it may not be this year (same as Pit). Also, Kendricks is still in play and could be a monster for either team. Both teams will battle for the AFC North once again and here we'll be.

It was more a fluke thing, mlm.  I spent some quality family time with my wife and daughter after not seeing much of them the past few days.  We had the draft on and I was watching, but I didn't have the laptop out.

If it helps the Steelers grab somebody tomorrow, I'd be happy to avoid the computer again, but I think we can safely say this was a successful draft regardless of what happens the next two days, so I'll probably be around tomorrow and Saturday.

Far from screwed. I just reeally REALLY didn't want to have a guy like Hightower learning from Ray Lewis. Can you blame me?

Now I'm just going to cross my fingers that someone else takes Upshaw in front of them.

However it shakes out though, they have a solid group of players still available. 

Indy they really love Brooks, don't be surprised to see them go OG, OG. It will secure that O-line for years.

The Way the draft has been going we need to be patient, someone that we can use will fall to us.

There were 4 QB's taken in the 1st round, so the teams that still may be looking QB could reach for Cousins and Brockweiller.

Wow!!! What the hell are the Seahawks doing? You pick one-trick ponies in the third or fourth round. And you pick one-trick ponies who get arrested for robbery and defacing public property in the sixth or seventh round. Did Seattle write the wrong name down on the card? If they did mean to pick him, did they even watch him on tape? He's an athlete playing football. This is one of the worst draft picks of all time.
