Browns selected former Baylor WR with a second-round pick in the 2012 supplemental draft.
Only Buffalo picked ahead of Cleveland each round, so it's possible that another team also submitted a second-round bid on Gordon. CBSSports' Jason LaCanfora notes the Browns have spent a lot of time around the Baylor program of late, and the coaching staffs in Waco as well as Utah gave Gordon a strong vote of confidence. While Gordon boasts an ideal NFL body (6'3/224) and catch radius for a wide receiver, he may be more athlete than football player. The Browns desperately needed a young playmaker to join Trent Richardson, Brandon Weeden, and Greg Little as the offensive core, but they paid an exorbitant price in forfeiting their 2013 second-round pick for a player with just one year of college film as a true 19-year-old sophomore. Over the past decade, OT Jared Gaither (2007 fifth round) and LB Ahmad Brooks (2006 third round) are the only supplemental draft picks to make an impact at the NFL level.Steelroc, read the previous page. Demo edged you out. You were #6. I didn't make the list.
Most agree it was a reach for the Browns to give up a 2nd rounder in 2013, which will once again be in the top half of the round. But after all, this is the Browns we are talking about.I think if you're the Browns you have to put that in as a 3rd rounder. There was only one team that could take him from them (Buffalo) and if it happens so be it. The guy is incredibly raw.
The Browns clearly went into panic mode after not getting Kendall Wright. Of course they should have just went after one of the remaining WRs in the draft instead of the 40 year old rookie

As much as I still think Heckert may have overpaid for Gordon, I don’t’ think he made the move out of sheer desperation. He DID his homework. While I doubt he interviewed a gazillion people, I’m sure he talked to enough of the right people to feel comfortable with pulling the trigger. From what I can find Gordon is saying and doing all the right things, and has been able to convince the Browns to select him. Heckert put him through the ringer during a Q&A interview, possibly the only team to do so.
In three short years Heckert has infused the Browns roster with a bunch of solid young talented players, on both sides of the ball. I honestly think that scares the majority of the fan base around the AFCN as the era of dominance for the Yinzers and Rat-turds is coming to a screeching halt.
FEAR THE ELF!!!!

very cool !
Did this poor guy have any idea you were planning on your kids college fund !!!
Keep your eyes on Tennesee this year, they have two WE that will be drafted in the top 50-60 players.
Da'Rick Rodgers 6-3 215 # 70 overall projected the end fo round two
Justin Hunter, 6-4, 205 #15 overall, top 20 pick.
The thing is this, we get an early start this year. On August 31st. The Vols go to N C State, David Amerson is the best CB prospect in this draft, should be a good one to tape. ON October 13th, Jonathon Banks, second best CB from Mississippi State, gets a shot at Bray, ROdgers, and Hunter. ANother good one to watch that I have on my calender.
Hopefully Mike Wallace gets his azz in camp. I have hope for Tony Clemmons making the team, nice to see a local kid come in to camp from the late rounds with something to prove. HOwever, not sure if he has much competition with the fodder from the undrafteds and last years practice squad. I think this is the year they give up on the Wes Welker clone, Tyler
I still like Aaron Mellette out of Elon, not really a slepper, but his upside is HUGE. CUrrently rated #55 overall, I have to think the Senior Bowl will make or break his shot as a second rounder. It all depends on runs in this draft, I think 7 WR go in the first 63 picks. (Cleveland forfeighted their pick). Their first game is vs. North Carolina on Sept. 1st, not sure if it will be on tv, unless ome of you living in the Carolinas have ACC network. On OCt. 6th, Mellette goes up against Demetrius McCray, Appalachian State, who has size at 6-0, 182.
