Irish, obviously were not on the same page, but just because they didn't take Tannehill doesn't mean he wasn't in top 10.  Mayb their board read Luck, RG3, Richardson, Claiborne, Blackmon, Floyd, Weeden, Tannehill etc, etc, etc.  Therefore ur wrong and have no idea where he was ranked.

While they may not care about what McCoy thinks if he’s now going to be displaced (and possibly traded or cut), there are other guys in the locker room who may now be less inclined to trust the coaching staff and/or the front office.
This is what concerns me the most.  If the element of trust, and teamwork doesn’t exist between the FO, Coaches, and Players this “new” Browns franchise is forever doomed.
Do you know what brings about trust in a coaching staff? Identifying players that are part of the problem and not the solution and replacing them with players that take you from a 13 point per game offense to a 22 point per game offense.Wink

These guys are part fraternity, I agree, but no one in that locker room wants to play Madden with their teammate more than win football games. I think they are sick of losing just as much as the fans are.

Drafting two guys like they did last night goes a long way towards building the trust in this front office...

These guys as starters in college over the last 2 years were 35-3...add Richardson's year as backup and they are 45-6...

Weeden knows how to win, but doesn't seem to have injury concerns like Colt did...

We will see, but the future is looking up imho.

It is pretty simple stopper,

1) If you have a Quarterback ranked in the top ten overall, you have him pegged as a franchise QB. There are very few franchise QBs in the entire NFL, let alone a draft.
2) The ever elusive franchise QB is also BY FAR the most important position known to the NFL franchise, hands down, not even close.

3) If you are in need of one(which the Browns obviously were looking for one, having taken a QB in the first round), then you take him at all cost. I.E. offer (3) first round draft picks to move up in the draft to get him.

4) Doesn't matter what order you have him ranked on a piece of paper, you may only get one shot at getting this franchise guy in your tenure as a coach/GM/President...You move him to the top of the list and draft him.

None of the above happened in pertaining to Ryan Tannehil, so it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out they didn't have him ranked in the top ten of this draft.

...now with that in mind, I am not arguing that they may not have had him rated ahead of Brandon Weeden. If they felt Weeden was a sure fire franchise guy, he would have been the pick at #4. However, it was pretty obvious that he would be available at #22. The difference between Weeden and Tannehill was obviously small enough that they would rather get the franchise RB, just in case their plan at QB doesn't pan out too well. This way they are at the very least improving the offense from the rushing perspective.

My only argument was u said there was no way the Browns had Tannehill in their top 10.....w my above post it could have been just like that where Weeden was ahead of Tannehill but he was still top 10.  U and I both don't have a clue about their top 10, but I have a source w NE org that thinks the Browns FO is pretty much a joke.

Riley Reiff, Whitney Mercilus, Nick Perry

I would rather they take the BPA instead of reaching for a QB, but then what do I know.
Do you really believe any of those three are more important to the future of this team, if they deem Brandon Weeden a possible top ten NFL QB?

Are any of those positions more important than the QB, if they decided frankly, Colt McCoy is not at a level to lead this team?

...I have to disagree, if they decided Colt is at his ceiling, then they had to find a replacement. They must think Weeden is that guy, otherwise, they would have ear marked another in a later round and just started praying that he out played Colt going into the season. This play made in the first round made the statement...'Colt McCoy is not playoff material', he had to be replaced now imho.

I have no clue what NE org is, but I have a feeling they are no more credible than I am...

I have seen the players that Tom Heckert has put on the field over the past ten years(or two if you want to give 100% of the credit to Andy Reid), and I will respectfully disagree with whomever they are.

The thing with his dad did really bug me too, this isnt high school anymore dipshit****..  I really hope WEED works out and doesnt get killed in his first year and please god dont make me watch a season of Seneca Wallace so Weed can learn the ropes...  Im happy for u guys that are pumped. By the eay some of u are justifying the reach at 22 ur saying we dont need any line help and reciever isnt really a big deal anymore... Go Broens im hungover as shit****..  Damn it TD i wish u never told me about Nick Perry..

How did we miss on Cordy Glenn? He is still available...

You're right . . . he is.  But he won't be at 37.

How about Riley Reiff or David DeCastro

Again, I really don't haver a major issue with Weeden.  Just think he was a bit of a reach.

Damn it TD i wish u never told me about Nick Perry..
I think that was a possibility once Wright went off at #20, but obviously they were committed to changing QB's.    I personally, think it was the absolute right thing to do.  They wanted Weeden from the get go.  Maybe he would have slid to them at #37, but they didn't want to take the chance.  I don't blame them one bit for the move.   I liked their decisivness last night.  They identified guys that they clearly wanted, and they didn't hesitate....

All the complainers saying they wasted picks in the move up for T. Rich are just habitual bitchers. They would be complaining regardless.....and they would be the first ones crying if Tampa had leapfrogged us to take him.  "they were in perfect position!.  how did they let this happen??" lol!  can't ya just hear em?

Assuming you are talking about New England organization then? I didn't know if you were talking about some obscure .org website...Thanks for clarifying and making your post a little more legible.

Does he think Holmgren is a blow hard? Probably, as do most likley 50% of the others in the NFL...I still love what Heckert is doing for this team and don't really give a rat's arse what Nick Caserio thinks of ours...The NE org is about as pompous a front office as you could reference, with good reason...they have made the playoffs more over the past decade than the franchise did in the previous 30 years.

Here is a great post that someone shared on the steeler board with animated picture reactions on each draft pick.  Some of you will enjoy Wheedon's depending on sense of humor that is.

Still available...something tells me Heckert knows what the hell he's doing...as are the WRs that many were calling for at #22...Does the Weeden pick look ANY better now?
