In-Gadda-Da-Vida - Iron Butterfly. Hey good to see you Crosshairs. Stick around. You must be a Doors fan. I saw them in '69. With In a Gadda Da Vida, that's really one of my least favorite Iron Butterfly Songs. I've listened to an anthology and I found there was much better stuff. You ought to hear "The Unconscious Power."

Hey clean - We must be the same generation.  I started at U of Illinois in 1969 and saw a lot of bands on campus.  Never saw the Doors or Iron Butterfly live though.  Saw the Stones, Chicago, Sly and the Family Stone (they were about two hours late for their gig and when they came out Sly was obviously wrecked).  We had some great bands just getting started playing at some of the campus bars.  Head East, REO Speedwagon and there was a band called Genesis that was a favorite, but I don't think it was the Phil Collins Genesis.  They played Santana and other top 40 Rock of that era.  In a Gadda da Vida stuck with me because it was so dang long on the album and one of the guys in my house played it all the time.  I was more into Santana, the Doors, Joplin, Grace with Jefferson Airplane and date nite music like the Cryan Shames.  Thanks for the note and if you started it thanks for the fine thread!

Wow Cross, I started college in '69 too. The only way you can hear the real good stuff from the late 60s early 70s is on satellite radio. I didn't start this thread, but I'll always participate in them. You seem like a keeper here. i think you'll have a lot of fun.

You're welcome!  Glad you're enjoying it.

Thanks Rock.  I see you are up between Tallahasse and Jacksonville.  Did Debby dump on you pretty good there.  We caught about 11 inches on the south side of Sarasota but about 9 was concentrated into a 48 hour stretch.  I am about 100 yards from Phillipi Creek  but we got no flooding here.  Siesta Key got hit pretty hard with some flooding and power outtage.  The ground here is all quartz sand so it drains real quick.

Anywhooo thanks for the musical challenges.  As alluded to in Carry on My Wayward Son, we are all looking for answers.  Here is a place where we can help each other find them and have fun doing it!!
