Actually, if you remember, I said for the longest time, that the Lakers would never sniff cracking the top 4 seeds and would end up fighting for somewhere between 6-8. That, now is exactly what is happening.

It was much later, when they fell 3-4 games behing the 8 seed that I said the math would indicate to me that they won't even make the playoffs. At this point I feel they will make them, but it is still no given.  Utah has found a way to lose a few close games and Kobe has found a way to win some lately. I really don't care if they make them or not. It more or less just became a matter of having fun at Lakers fans expense that a team with Kobe/Nash/Howard/Gasol was even in this type of situation.

If they do make them I lose a 30 day avi bet. Big whoops.  Funnier thing is, and not that I think there is a prayer of it happening, but if they do make it, I hope they go on some miraculous type of run and end of playing the Heat. Year 3 and that is what I have always wanted to see, Heat/Lakers Finals.

Anyway, the best news of the night besides the Heat winning was the Heat now have the fewest losses in the league (with the Spurs losing).  My eye is HC advantage for the big prize, not worrying about possibly sneaking into the playoffs. The Heat clinched that already, on March 8.

Your team has been playing with fools gold this entire week. Law of averages will eventually kick in.  You won 3 games against 1 decent and 2 crappy teams which easily could have all been losses (with 2 of the 3 at home).  Without Kobes insane heroics combined with alot of homecooking, you are no better off then you were.


The one elite team you played, put your chances into proper perspective.


The only luck the Heat needs is having everyone stay healthy.

Miami clinched playoff berth yesterday.   Miami going for 34 wins in a row... 4/9 vs Milwaukee.   Just a month away.

The Heat play down to lesser competition too much to reach 34. I don't think they lose to the Pacers, but to a random mediocre team that no one will see coming.

I said it the other night on the Heat board that the streak will lose to a team that is either a lower seed in the playoffs or a team that won't make the playoffs.

I honestly think they lose friday in Milwaukee. Starting wed they go on a 5 game roadtrip, I think we will lose one. If I had to take a guess I'll say they lose to Milwaukee or Toronto. Boston will be tough but they will be locked in for that game. If they survive that trip the streak can get into April
