Well, now, there's a big trade: Boomer sends Brady and Turner to Joe for AP. I think this is a case where the guy who got the best player in the trade did not win it. Joe is back in the game. (Won't apply until Week 2, though.) Boomer now has Freeman & AP as QB and RB1, while Joe goes with Brady & Turner.

I think boom won on the trade big time! Ray Rice will get 3 tds either rushing or recieving and over 100 total yards. Even though he is playing the Steelers.

I gotta say though I really feel bad for not just Joe but every person who wasted a draft pick on Peyton Manning. I'm not judging anyone I just wished they where more upfront about the injury.

AP and Turner are a lot closer than people think. Turner has only 83 more carries in his career than AP, but AP has 85 more receptions, so it's very close to even in terms of wear and tear. Turner was hurt in 2009 but started every game in 2010. Turner is 29 and AP is 26, but carries is a better predictor of RB drop-off than calendar age. Last year, AP outscored Turner by only 25 ff points (fewer than two per game). Over the past three years, Turner got 498 ff points in 43 games while AP got 710 in 47, which gives Turner 13.9 per game and AP 15.1.

AP is better -- and younger -- but it's not a wide margin.

Now to Freeman and Brady. We have lots of info on Brady. Excluding his injury year -- taking five of the last six years -- Brady averaged 346 ff points in 80 games, or 21.6 ff pts per game. We won't hold Freeman's rookie season against him (unimpressive), but he got 291 ff points in 16 games last year, or 18.2 per game. (That's a small sample, he could do better; he could also do worse.)

So based on past performance:

Brady and Turner: 13.9 + 21.6 = 35.5
Freeman and AP: 18.2 + 15.1 = 33.3

It's very close. Freeman might be significantly better (but probably only a little better), and Turner might drop off or get hurt, but his chances of that are not significantly higher than AP's.

Considering Joe's options were Cutler and AP, he improved his team more.

Boomer gets the small bonus of a ww pick.

I agree i feel sorry for those who took him.  Now in joes case at least is was in the 4th round. and for those thaat have drafted this last weekend.  they should of had an idea that it could of been bad.  So if they got him in a late round with knowing there would be some risk then relaly they would of gained more than they have lost now.  However in my money draft he went 11th overall in the 1st round, and i am sure tha tleague is not the only time he was drafted in the first round.  Those poeple i feel sorry for.

I dont know if they could of been upfron about the injury however the radio show out of indy that CBS had been postin commits about was spot on. Sundy CBS posted from that show that peyton would need another procedure.  ALso on a side not my wife had this operation it was lower on the spine, and i am sure they Manning will heal fast.  And has lots more money for the best rehab out there.  But also my wife did not have to go play NFL games when she was recoverd. I say there is almost no way he is playing this season.  and next month he will be placed on IR.

And if collins gets hurt or stinks it up in game one.  It would be some great made for TV drama if the Colts picked up David Garrard.

WIl  you are right. However i am happy with the trade.  I offerd Joe two packages one with Brad and the other with Freeman.    And for Brady i did not want less than AP so i paired turner with him.  I really like Freeman this year.  He is no brady that is for sure and mY QBs take a hit.  But my RBs are upgraded.  While i like turner this year Ap is my number 1 RB. I think he will have one of the best years he has ever had.  (i could be wrong though).  And also since Joes team was autopicked i thought i would try to help him out a bit and get right back in the middle of it.

Yeah, I agree that it helps the league to undo all those Colts of Joe's. Now he's down to Clark and Wayne, which isn't crazy. (Why keep Vinatieri, Joe?)

I think I'm starting Santana Moss over Reggie Wayne this week as my #3WR.  Giants' defense is depleted and Rexy loves Moss.  I think I just have to see what happens with Indy before I roll with or trade Reggie.

I'd feel bad for Colts fans, but I'm a Bills fan!

Cause part of me thinks that kickers that play for less-than-stellar teams will have more chances at field goals. There are some options out there like Folk and Bironas. I actually was leaning toward Bironas. I think Hasselbeck will have a decent year in TEN. Better O-line than in SEA. Arguably better weapons at WR and RB to throw to. And the division he plays in has some questionable defenses, and to think he plays them each twice! Hmmm.

Well foot it's a little bit of a concern how ever while AP has some tough mach ups over all he has the 2nd easiest schedule for a RB. He has great ability and this year the offense will revolve around him not a 40 heard old QB and that is why I have him as my number 1 Rb he should have a heavy work load how ever next year his stock could start to be on the decline a bit due to the work load he could have this year IMO

From the link Joe posted a few pages back, rotoworld thinks that O-line will be the worst in the league, and they give pretty convincing reasons.
