The Pac-12 Thread....

Well, at least the last barrage was directed at Redd or USC. LOL. Maybe everyone can move on now.

Anyone else notice how few "DUIs", "arrests" and "B&Es" came out of the Pac-12 compared to the rest of CFB?

Complete shocker, LSU and Alabama got number 1 and 2. SC should be solid but LSU and Alabama don't deserve the ranking but by default of noone else they get it. Much like Oregon gets number 5 because of default, exactly what has the whoever the QB is going to be and for that matter the offense done to justify number 5? Is Thomas going to take all the snaps under center and have Barner spell him?

Like I said, B1G and Pac-12 cede from this group called the NCAA and keep the western third of the country in  the traditional Rose Bowl/West championship. Lotsa money, no polls, no SEC. No problems.....

By saying it's a coaches poll, they just didn't qualify it by admitting it's just the SEC coaches poll. Not the poll of all coaches across the nation.Wink

I can remember in High School economics class, the teacher showed us how easily polls and stats can be manipulated to say what ever you want in order to back up your views. Just ask the right questions, phrased just right, and ask enough people. Then throw out enough of the ones that don't answer your way, and you have a majority of the people polled answered or voted your way.

NativeWebfoot. Kinda same old, same old. just enough 'tilt" that if push comes to shove, it's goes the other way. Not blatantly, but  enough that there's not much doubt.....

Anyone have anything on Norm Chow's apparent fall from grace? From the high water mark of the old USC days, it seems to have been a long down hill ride ever since. Is he working this season?

It's like in political science, It's not asking enough people just asking the right demographic. Heck like I've asked Duck fans as to who their quarterback is going to be, I live in the region and still don't know, really think a coach/AD/whoever casts the vote from any of the other power conferences knows a lick. This is why the AP has always, and will always be the more credible poll.

Every single post you have Wazzu you try and slam UO - you have to be one of the most envious posters on the site. This years Duck team will have the best defense in their history, their O-Line will be improved, their WR position will be better and deeper, the TE has a NFL career in front of him. Barner will lead the confence in rushing and they have the most explosive player possibly in the country. So every aspect of the team has improved which brings us to the QB slot. DT ran the Chips option read well, but he was very inaccurate -- both kids lined up to take over have more talent and speed and are better passers. If Thomas stays not sure he is the starter, you do realize that was part of the reason he left. Just accept it for what it is Wazzu is barely Div 1 status and UO is now a top 10 program. Leach was a good hire should bring your Cougs up to a .500 team in a few years. But overall sports? Did WSU even get a point in the Capital One standings?

Unfortunately for Chow he takes over Hawaii as they buff up the schedule from WAC to MW, coming off a 6-7 record and mega rebuilding on both sides. they only return 3 on O and 4 on D.  They have USC nad BYU as part of the non conference schedule I would be surprised if they did any better than 6th in MW, and abowl is unlikely.

Wow,

A fellow takes a few days to hang in the tropics, and all kinds of things happen.  The PSU thing being the most surprising.

Wazzu hating at Oregon being #5, I agree, they should be #3.  Ok. and Bama are not better than Oregon at the start of this season.

And, I would have gone with USC at #1 so the SOS for Oregon will be all the better when the Ducks thump them---twice!

At least the Games in London are helping pass the time until kickoff.  It is kind of cool seeing the folks from the trials in San Jose and Eugene competing in London.

Kiffin is probably trying to get the 400M double amputee to walk on at SC this season......Are there any limits to the USC recruiting machine?

Ok, well I do hate Oregon, but all my posts have been respectful as to wondering exactly why Oregon is deserving of the 5th spot, asking who your QB is going to be. Your defense will be the "best ever", a strong o-line with an offense that doesn't need a "tough o-line"..those are all legitimate questions, most definetly not envious of golden shower university

All your posts respectful - my ass -- nothing but jealous Phil Knight references -- right there above you mention golden shower, this coming from a fan of a program that has a smaller stadium than 13 high schools in Texas. You are nothing but a jealous little twit. But can't expect anything more from the Red Headed Step Child of the PAC. Have a nice 4-8 season.
