Why aren't you on the thread entitled "The SEC is overrated" and asking the same question? That one amazes me considering the SEC went 7-2 and LSU won the NC!

Michigan (9-4) only won ONE more game than Mississippi State (8-5).
which isn't saying much when:
Michigan played only ONE team in the AP top 15 last season (#5 Ohio State), Mississippi State played THREE (#1 LSU, #6 West Virginia and #12 Tennessee).
Dude you're on your own here. If you really think you can compare the Big Ten with the season the SEC just had then you have just explained to the rest of us why you are a MIchigan fan.

Ah, your talking about the current AP poll, I thought you meant when they where ranked during the season. My bad. And no I'm not wrong dimwit, they can go back to 102 where you basically stated that Miss St had a better record than most of UM's scheduled teams, and which they should've with games (as stated before) against UAB, Gardner Webb, UCF, and o yeah.... I think they played La Tech. Zero football knowledge? Dude I was starting safety on varsity for two years ( Not bragging folks, I was nothing special and my school was not very, uh good. lol ) I've been watching college football now for at least 4 years, I'm only eighteen. I knew the SEC had an East and West, I just didn't know they HAD to schedule those punyass teams like La Tech, Midd Tenn, Tenn Tech, ... and so on. I don't really follow the SEC so sue me, and to set the record straight I wasn't a Big Ten homer until after you Southerners made me hate a conference so much that I had no choice but to root for mine.

You're dead on, this punk has no knowledge of college football, outside his little world. He obviously has some hatred toward anything or anyone south of the Mason Dixon Line, muchless any respect. At 18, he doesn't have a clue of the history or heritage of college football, only the Internet to google for the numbers, that he so eloquently spews.

You told me everything I already suspected about your validity. You played on someone's team, somewhere, was a ho-hum safety (for a team that that probably had no talent at all, which allowed you to start), and that gives you ultimate credibility. You knew the structure of the SEC, but didn't know that each conference Has to play inside it's conference means... You know nothing outside your favorite team's conference (which by the way, makes you an official HOMER). Just so you know, the games you cite in your post (La Tech, Midd Tenn, Tenn Tech, etc) are OOC games, and if you knew more information about the conferences, you would know they weren't in the SEC. Following college football 4 years, Dude, I don't know about Greatist, but I'm almost 50. I've been following the sport 35 years.
I hope your team does well next year, they have potential, but for now, bow out and just post congrats to LSU, as they are your National Champion (from the pitiful SEC).
And being so critical as your being of MY hs football years, Im guessing you were on your all area's first team right? lol...
