Rock, your avatar looks like a cross between "Dr. House" on TV and a trained assassin who'd kill you for breathing too loud. I dig it. Sy, if you haven't heard any of Rod Picott's music, I strongly suggest you check him out, along with his duet partner Amanda Shires. He is a frequent collaborator of Slaid Cleaves, and co-wrote "Broke Down" and "The River Runs," and a few others. His solo work could be called a cross between Springsteen and Chris Knight. Only 3 weeks til the Safety Dinner; I can't wait! Oh, I finally got confirmation; Amanda will not be coming. She chose Australia over Gainesville; can you believe that? |

Rock, I think I've got most of Slaid Cleaves music and I'm a big fan of Chris Knight. I'll have to check out Picott's material. Which CD do you suggest I start with? Rod Picott looks like a bad a** and he's playing the Safety Dinner. Ha! Enjoy the show and I'm sorry Amanda won't be onstage with Picott. |

SY, start with his latest, Welding Burns. The other album I have is Stray Dogs and it is excellent, too, as is Sew Your Heart With Wires, the duet album with Amanda.

Thanks Sy. I knew the story pretty well, just couldn't remember the city it happened in.
Damn Rock, Rod looks like he;s ready to smack ya brains! Hey FANS, enjoy the game buddy! Got the new VH today and it is a ballbreaker-they never recorded anything even remotely as ballsy with Hagar on vocals. "Cuttin' The Rug" - Izzy Stradlin and the Juju Hounds "The Entertainer" - Billy Joel This song sounds like theme music for Medieval Times. "Jeremy(Live)" - Pearl Jam |

HEY KOY, I didn't desert you but getting ready to watch the UK basketball game and several shows on DVR so no music for the night. How yu doing?? Mastering those heavy discs?? They got the distance but I know what you mean about the control issues. Too much rain today to throw, but I have been having problems w/ the heavier new discs. I bought them ($10 bucks each, no matter the type) because they are among the higher rated discs for distance and glide, but they may take a stronger throw than I'm able to do to get the maximum fly out of them. I've gotten to the point where I can often hit a metal pole from around 35 yards and in, and sometimes from farther out. It's fun. Hey Koy, I see you're listening to the new VH-thoughts? First time through LD...nobody sounds like Eddie, he still has the very unique sonics. All songs written by Roth/VH. Blood And Fire - Van Halen |

KOY, I think I told you before that back in the day, a friend and I got into buying the black Pro series frisbies. They were big and heavy and you definitely had to put more effort into getting them up to speed and usually resulting in less control. But when you threw one of those just right, we could stand about 65-75 yards apart at the park across the street from my house which had a baseball/almost full size football field and play catch almost without moving. But if you got the least llittle wobble, then all bets were off on where they were going. I liked throwing those discus style to get a little more velocity and spin but if you tilted your hand at all you were as likely to throw it 10 yards as 60. But it is a great feeling when you can curve one and land it almost exactly on your target. I didn't enjoy the game much. KY won with little suspense but my wife is a huge KY fan and she usually watches the LOUSIVILLE games with me so she gets mad when I put in the earbuds and ignore the so I have to watch close enough that when she complains about a play and asks if I saw it, I can answer intelligently enough to pretend I was interested. And I don't dare tell her I'm really rooting for whoever KY is playing so the game is only interesting to me when it;s close enough that KY might actually lose. But that's a small price to pay as opposed to the half you pay for a divorce. |

You Must Be Evil - Chris Rea
"The Road To Hell" I come home from work I see my little girl She's crying on the floor She's been watching that TV This ain't late no This ain't even dinner time To show them things on that screen What's wrong with you You must be evil Oh I know why you do it You're just looking for sensation You got a hold of something You tell us that it's news You don't have to show that stuff Can't you show us some respect You can tell us we don't need to see it We don't need those cheap effects You must be evil You must be evil I wish you were here You don't have to show that stuff You ain't fooling no one You made my little girl cry I wish you were here We all know why you do it Sometimes you even slow it down You giving out some bad ideas here I can't believe that you don't realise You must be evil |

Townes is masterful on stage; only he could get away with telling such an awful joke as this: A drunk is stumbling around on the street and approaches 2 police officers. "Officers, help me, someone stole my car!" One officer asks, "Where was your car, sir?" "Right on the end of this key!" "Well," the officer says, "You'll have to go down to the precinct and make an official report and sign a statement . . . first, though, would you please zip up your fly?" The drunk looks down at his crotch and exclaims "Oh, Hell, they got my girl, too!" |
